Good Night, Amanda Hopper
by Tony Werner
What inspired you to write this play?
I thought about two brothers sharing a bedroom in their thirties in the middle of a Chicago winter and how that must feel. Busted out, but sitting in a place where you once had so much hope. Listening to a nostalgic song from that time. I thought maybe if they just captured a piece of that earlier hope, even if it feels foolish now to ever have had hope in the first place, they could find some way forward.
